The Wayne State College women's cross country team had a second-place finish Friday afternoon at the Wildcat Classic held at the Wayne Country Club. The race was shortened to 3,600 meters due to the heat.
Sioux Falls captured the team title with 18 points followed by Wayne State in second at 49 and Southwest Minnesota State third with 65 points. Mount Marty did not have enough runners for a team score.
Sophomore
Allie Czapla was the top Wildcat finisher taking seventh place on the 3,600-meter course in a time of 15:01.66.
Sydney Escritt followed in eighth at 15:07.00 with junior
Callie Kirchner ninth at 15:11.40.
Freshman
Kyla Krusemark took 10
th place with a time of 15:15.53 and senior
Maelee Beacom crossed the line in 16
th place at 15:41.84.
