Daylin Mallory broke his own school record in the shot put while
Quentin Dreyer and
Emmanuel Badejo earned event wins to lead the Wayne State men's indoor track and field team Friday evening at the South Dakota State Last Chance Invite held in Brookings at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
           Mallory bettered his own school record set three weeks ago at the Wildcat Indoor Classic by just over two feet, placing second in the shot put with a mark of 55' 2 ¼". The old mark was 53' 1 ¾". His new mark is also an NCAA provisional mark that currently ranks third in the NSIC.Â
           The Wildcats also recorded two event wins as senior
Quentin Dreyer crossed the line first in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:32.40 while freshman
Emmanuel Badejo posted another win in the 400-meter dash taking first with a time of 47.74 seconds.Â
           WSC had four top finishers in the weight throw at
Jaxson Ninete was fourth (56' 1 ¼"),
Samuel Zazueta fifth at 54' 5 ½",
J'Dyn Bullion sixth with a mark of 54' 3 ¼" and freshman
Braden McGill seventh at 53' 5 ¾".Â
           Other fourth place finishers for the Wildcats were senior
Wyatt Nissen in the 200-meter dash in 22.11 seconds and sophomore
Elliott Nottlemann was fourth in the high jump clearing 6' 5".

Daniel Elge was fifth in the shot put (51' 7"), freshman
Mitchell Hupp was sixth in the 60-meter dash at 6.92 seconds,
Mitchell Rudie was sixth in the 600-meter run (1:27.77) and
Alex Leuenberger was seventh in the 400-meter dash in 50.30 seconds.Â
           Wayne State will be in Mankato, Minnesota Friday and Saturday for the Northern Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Myers Field House.  Â
