Emmanuel Badejo set two new school records while sophomore
Elliott Nottlemann won two events to lead the Wayne State men's outdoor track and field team Friday afternoon at the 17
th annual Wildcat Outdoor Classic held in hot, windy conditions at LeRoy Simpson Track/Cunningham Field in Wayne.
           Nottlemann collected two event wins in the long jump (22' 10 ¾") and cleared 6' 4" to win the high jump while Badejo took first in the 200-meter dash in a new school record time of 20.99 seconds and was second in the 100-meter dash with a new wind-aided school record time of 10.36 seconds. The previous school records were held by Clay Kramper with times of 10.55 in the 100-meter dash and 21.31 seconds in the 200-meter dash and set in the 2018 season.
           Other event wins for WSC came from senior
Quentin Dreyer in the 1,500-meter run at 4:09.64 and freshman
Alex Razee in the 400-meter dash in 50.39 seconds.
           Freshman sprinter
Mitchell Hupp (Stanton) came in second in the 200-meter dash in 21.11 seconds and was third in the 100 at 10.48 seconds. Boone Central senior
Wyatt Nissen had a third-place effort in the 200-meter dash (21.35) and was seventh in the 100-meter dash at 10.64 seconds.
           Other second place finishes came from
Daylin Mallory in the shot put (51' 0") and senior
Daniel Elge in the hammer throw at 186' 8". Elge was also seventh in the shot put (48' 5 ¼").Â
           In the 400-meter dash, freshman
Mujeeb Adewuyi took third (51.30) with
Austin Madsen fourth (51.76).

Brody Lucas was sixth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:02.86 with Dreyer seventh at 2:05.27.Â

Brandon Mitzel had a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:09.74.Â
           Senior
Alex Brandt captured fourth place in the high jump clearing 6' 0" while
Nate Decker was sixth in the long jump with a top mark of 20' 9 ¼".Â
           In the hammer throw,
Samuel Zazueta was fourth (176' 8") and
Jaxson Ninete fifth at 174' 3" while freshman
Braden McGill was eighth in the discus at 142' 0".Â
           Wayne State competes in the Concordia Invite at Seward on Friday and Saturday, April 4
th and 5
th.Â
