Brady Franzen was the top Wayne State runner Saturday morning at the UNL Greeno/Dirksen Invitational held at Mahoney Park Golf Course in Lincoln. As a team, the Wildcats finished 17th out of 23 team scores at 502 points.
Wichita State was the team champion at 35 with Missouri second with 49 points. Air Force (53), Nebraska-Kearney (154) and Northwest Missouri State (182) closed out the team standings.
Franzen, a graduate of Lincoln Lutheran HS, was the first Wildcat runner to cross the line on the 8,000-meter course with a time of 26:27.6. Senior
Brody Lucas was next in 114th place out of a field of 316 runners at 26:49.0 with freshman
Lucas Frazier right behind in 115th place with a time of 26:49.2
Sophomore
Ethan Walters took 189th place at 28:04.8 with sophomore
William Keller 200th at 28:22.5.

Wayne State will host the Wildcat Classic on Friday afternoon at the Wayne Country starting with the women's race at 4 p.m. and the men's race at 4:45 p.m.
