Ninete wins hammer throw at Sioux City Relays with NCAA provisional mark

            Sophomore Jaxson Ninete posted an NCAA provisional mark to win the hammer throw Friday afternoon to lead the Wayne State men's track and field team at the Sioux City Relays.
            Ninete, a graduate of Elkhorn HS, had a winning mark of 190' 7" for a first-place finish and NCAA provisional mark.  WSC had six of the top seven throws in the event as Daniel Elge was second at 188' 11", Jake Peitz third (173' 6"), Alex Altman fourth with a throw of 173' 0", Matthew Logue sixth (168' 0") and Samuel Zazueta seventh at 165' 7".
            Freshman sprinter Emmanuel Badejo also collected an event win for the Wildcats crossing the tape first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.23 seconds. 
            Junior Daylin Mallory placed second in the shot put at 53' 4 ½" with Peitz taking seventh (46' 2 ¾").
            The other top finisher for the Wildcats was freshman Alex Razee taking third in the 400-meter dash in 49.73 seconds.
            Wayne State will compete again Saturday at the University of South Dakota Challenge in Vermillion.
