Sophomore
Jaxson Ninete recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw Wednesday afternoon to lead a solid day for the Wildcat throwers at the Mount Marty Twilight Meet in Yankton.
Ninete had a second-place finish in the event with a top mark of 192' 1" and now ranks #3 in the NSIC in the hammer throw. He also posted a fourth-place finish in the discus at 156' 2".
Junior
Daylin Mallory was third in the discus at 156' 5" and produced a fourth-place finish in the shot put at 51' 7 ¼".
Senior
Daniel Elge took fourth in the hammer throw (189' 6") and was sixth in the shot put at 50' 3 ¼".
Jake Peitz was sixth in the hammer throw (178' 6") with
Matthew Logue right behind in seventh (176' 4").
Samuel Zazueta took seventh in the discus at 150' 10" with
Alex Brandt placing eighth in the javelin (146' 9").
Sophomore
Elliott Nottlemann captured a third-place finish in the long jump at 22' 9" and
Alex Leuenberger was third in the 400-meter dash in 49.81 seconds.
Brandon Mitzel posted a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:40.69 with
Simeon Weers seventh in a time of 11:46.47.
Wayne State will have several athletes competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines this weekend, starting with the 4 x 800 meter relay team Thursday afternoon followed by Friday prelims in sprint events and throws on Saturday.
