Mark Vollmer


Vollmer, a Wisner, Nebraska graduate was a two time All-American triple jumper at Wayne State during his Wildcat career from 1984-88.  At the time of his induction in 2011, he held both school records, 48’ 4 ½” indoors and 48’ 11” outdoors both coming in the 1988 season despite competing with back problems during his career. 

Vollmer was sixth in the triple jump at the 1985 NAIA Indoor National meet at 47’ 9” and was fifth as a senior in the 1988 NAIA Indoor National meet at 47’ 7 1/2'”.  Vollmer was a one-time school record holder in the javelin and is married to former Wayne High and Wayne State standout athlete Missy Stoltenberg whose Dad, Del, was a long time football coach at Wayne State and a 2006 Inductee into the WSC Athletic Hall of Fame. 
        
Mark was inducted into the WSC Athletic Hall of Fame on October 8, 2011.
