Maurice Mintken

 

Mintken, a native of Gretna, was a standout wide receiver for the Wildcat football team from 1973-76. During his four-year career, Mintken caught 110 passes for 2,089 yards and 21 touchdowns, all of which were school records at the time of induction.

 

Mintken enjoyed tremendous sophomore and junior seasons. During his sophomore season in 1974, Mintken set single season records with 39 receptions for 643 yards. In 1975, he bettered both marks with 41 catches for 809 yards. He scored seven touchdowns each year as well. A four-year starter for the Wildcats, Mintken was named to the 1975 Nebraska College Conference All-Star First Team. He went on to receive NAIA All-America honorable mention recognition.

 

Mintken was inducted into the WSC Athletics Hall of Fame on October 4, 1979.
